On August 12th, 2015 - AMERICAN BANKER reported that federal regulators had fined Citizens Bank NA of Providence, RI and its sister, Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania, a total of $34.5 million.

These fines were the result of enforcement actions levied against the two banks due to discrepancies between the customers' deposit amounts and the amounts that the bank actually recorded.
